With 4 Golden Guitar nominations in the Bluegrass and Instrumental behind them since the trio’s formation in 2009, Australia's own Runaway Dixie continue to bring their unique down to earth style of bluegrass and country music to life in the many songs they create together.
With 6 albums to their credit containing original compositions along with cover versions of established classics the trio continue to present their music around Australia, recently returning from their 3rd year performing spots 5 nights a week for 10 weeks at a resort in the Northern Territory over June, July, early August 2023.
Runaway Dixie’s current single 'Lonesome Highway Blues' written by band member Virginia Hermel was released to radio and digital download via the band website 31st of January 2023.
The video clip for ‘Lonesome Highway Blues’ attained a Finalist spot in the 2023 ICMA Awards VIDEO section, along with a Finalist spot in the BAND Section for Runaway Dixie.
International appearances include representing Australia at the Mississippi Bi-Centennial Celebrations USA as part of the Jimmie Rodgers Festival 2017.
