Leslie Avril

“Leslie has developed a reputation for delivering her country music with passion and drive, the result being a gutsy sound which is not readily found among Australian female country singers”.
From a theatrical family, Leslie has performed throughout Australia & overseas, including Tamworth since 1990.
Highlights since winning a national TV talent show in 1980 have been : performing at the re-opening of the National Gallery of Victoria, being a major recipient of an Australia Council for the Arts Grant, reviving her role as Polly Garter in the play Under Milkwood at the Athenaeum Theatre, the Gympie Muster main stage between Lee Kernaghan & John Farnham & being inducted into the Tamworth Hands of Fame in 2011.
A vivacious singer, she moves effortlessly from original compositions, to HonkyTonk, Rockabilly, Blues, French, Cajun & 50s classics, which all feature on her 5 CDs.
“Leslie Avril’s voice and charisma put her in a class of her own – whether she’s belting out raunchy rockabilly in a crowded honky-tonk or distilling her blues magic in intimate cabaret.”
"She is sexy, bluesy and sheer dynamite live and her stunning vocals electrify an audience with power, depth & aching honesty.
