Laurel Calvert
Laurel is a talented singer/guitarist, who also plays stomp box and harmonica. Her early years were spent in Melbourne, singing at clubs and pubs and several television appearances.
After years spent raising her family, she pursued her love of country music at Tamworth, where the opportunity arose to perform with Graham Rodger, with whom she has done many of his famous “Tagalong’s” over the past 8 years.
Whilst she sings mainly covers, she has written a few songs, and has (3) albums to date – the most recent being “Reflections”. Her style of music is unique, and her voice has been compared to that of Judith Durham (Seekers). She knows over 350 songs, with many genres being covered, including Country, Folk, Pop & Rock. Laurel is able to adapt her music to suit her crowd, and her personality shines through with a natural and relaxed stage presence.
More recently, Laurel has formed the “Laurel and Phoebe Band” with her lovely talented friend Phoebe Hutchison, along with Phoebe’s husband Dave, their son, Karl, and Laurel’s husband Alfie.
