Jonathan Bone
Jonathan Bone is a natural songsmith whose vulnerable vocals and creative guitar play fuse alt-country and indie-folk music with a heart of protest. Originally from the Welsh valleys he is now at home in the Blue Mountains. His songs explore themes of love, hurt, redemption and compassion.
Bone's newly released debut album 'How It'll Be Alright' details the songwriter's journey as an outsider through the upheaval of lockdowns, mandates and censorship.
“I couldn’t recognise my world. I couldn’t speak freely. I couldn’t play my music. I started writing songs every day about stories I couldn’t ignore. I was angry and sad every time I wrote, a couple of times I cried.”
Anchored by Bone’s acoustic guitar stylings the album spans a range of musical genres and moods. From alt-country to fock-rock with touches of punk sensibility, the songs are often tender and always relentless as they call for understanding in the face of fear and division and pay passionate tribute to the value of guarding freedom.
