Gleny Rae Virus
A country girl with an international heart, Gleny Rae Virus believes music can inspire and change lives. A passionate educator, Gleny Rae Virus left the east coast in January 2021 to teach music in Alice Springs and fulfill a calling to work on community with indigenous children. Less than three years later, Gleny has directed several student mass choirs, worked extensively with First Nations children on community, established and mentored a community folk song and string band, performed with a wide range of musical acts. In 2023, Gleny was awarded a Golden Fiddle for Best Fiddler in a Band and the Australia Folk Music Award for Instrumentalist of the Year.
