Ethan picked up a guitar at the age of six and started writing songs not long after. He began gigging in his later high school years, forming the band Hunter Close with his brothers. His dream has always been to play music for a living. He left school early to pursue a career in carpentry and now sub-contracts as a carpenter to support his music career. He lived in Kununurra in the Kimberley for a while, working as a solo artist. When he returned to Victoria he produced and recorded his debut EP Long Road Home which was inspired by his time in the Kimberley. Ethan was a grand finalist in the 2023 Gympie NAB Talent Search. He has been touring around the country playing gigs throughout WA, Qld and Victoria with the last few months of 2023 playing locally in his region of Gippsland. What you see is what you get with Ethan, and his songwriting definitely reflects this type of persona. He has new songs ready to go for a new album and wants to release new music as soon as he can.
