Broken Creek are driving up from their home town Picola (100 people + 1 pub) to Tamworth to knock your socks off at the Welders Dog with stunning fiddle, guitar, banjo and vocals.
Erin and Lachlan Heycox grew up in rural Victoria steeped in bushbands and balladeers. Named for the creek Erin grew up near, ‘Broken Creek’ signals a love of traditional Australian folk and country music with an adventurous musical bent to “break” with what you expect, telling stories of outsiders from Australia’s past and present.
Broken Creek’s upcoming album ‘Yeah Nah’ features songs about small-town Australia, tunes inspired by the land and subversive interpretations of traditional Australian songs.
